Yoga For Runners Workshop with Emma Collins-Jones
Yoga For Runners.
Running can create tension and misalignment in the body, like tight hips and shortened hamstrings. This workshop, combining Yoga, Pilates, and Myofascial Release, is aimed at helping runners develop a balance of flexibility and strength, and prevent injuries.
You'll learn relevant and effective Yoga techniques such as foot and calf stretches, and work on balance and strength in the legs with standing poses. Myofascial Release with tennis balls will help relieve tightness in the hips and other areas. And Pilates style exercises will teach you to engage your core and the ‘little muscles’ important for running performance and injury prevention.
Emma Collins-Jones, completed her Yoga teacher training with Simona Hernandez and Angela Roberts in 2015. She is a Pilates teacher trainee and has a degree in Sport & Exercise Science. Emma is a competitive athlete (weightlifting) and has a special interest in teaching Yoga to athletes. Emma has recently worked with British Swimming and teaches a Yoga for Sports class at the University of Bath.
No experience is required for this workshop. In fact, you don’t even have to be a runner to enjoy it.
