Working with Anxious Young People (CAMHS Training)
Working with Anxious Young People
On completing the course participants will:
Have explored anxiety: what it is and its functions.
Be aware of the important considerations in formulating an intervention plan.
Have learnt practical strategies they can apply to their practice including systemic and cognitive behavioural techniques.
Professionals working directly with children and young people (KS2 and above for example pastoral staff, heads of year, attendance and behaviour specialists, school nurses and voluntary sector) and cluster workers.
Anxiety can be debilitating for the young people whose lives it effects. For many of them anxiety directly impacts on their ability to access education and learning, preventing them achieving their full potential.
This course focuses on supporting children and young people (aged 9-18) to overcome the impact of anxiety on their lives. From a theoretical foundation it introduces and explores a range of practical interventions which are directly applicable to working in both school and community settings. Small group delivery allows time to reflect on application within your specific setting.
