Weekend Intaglio Printmaking Course – Collograph
Weekend Intaglio Printmaking Course – Collograph - 27th & 28th July, 10am - 1pm
This is an intensive and rewarding weekend course covering the technique of collograph and intaglio printmaking. Day 1 will cover intaglio techniques and creative plate making. In day 2 you will print the collagrph plates you made the previous day. Suitable for total beginners and experienced artists alike.
The course schedule includes a short lunch and tea break, giving you 5 hours of printmaking time in total.
It is taught by Linda Newcombe, who is a highly experienced printmaker with many years as an Adult Education tutor.
This course uses professional quality relief ink which is water soluble while wet, meaning there is no smelly solvents to use in the clean up, however drying time is lengthy and you will need to return a few days later to collect your work, or bring a stamped, self-addressed A3 hardback envelope so your work can be posted to you when dry.
Printmaking is a messy business, and ink does spread so you are asked to bring overalls or painting clothes and rubber / vinyl gloves to protect your hands. You can also bring and use your own barrier cream. All other equipment and tools are provided.
Materials including ink, paper and plates supplied at cost price, please bring £4 for materials, depending on usage, or you may be able to print from your own plates, if you have them.
