UKCP18 Projections in Scotland
The UKCP18 projections, published 26 November 2018, offer a range of state-of-the-art climate information with greater regional detail, and further analysis of the risk we face, both nationally and globally. This is a major upgrade building on the UKCP09 projections, with more information on potential extremes and impacts of climate change across the UK.
Adaptation Scotland, ClimateXChange and the Met Office are inviting Scottish stakeholders to hear more about the UKCP18 projections - and to discuss how we can make the most of them including new projects, climate services, and communicating results in Scotland.
Thursday 24 January 2019, 11:00 - 15:00, Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (ECCI)
Join us to hear more about how the UKCP18 projections will provide:
- Updated probabilistic projections (25km, river basins, regions)
- Global projections (60km)
- Regional projections (12km)
- High-resolution projections (2.2km): due mid-2019
- Marine projections
- Observations (since late 1800s)
The afternoon session will focus on how we can make the most of the UKCP18 projections in Scotland, including many of the new products and features that could drive a step-change in the usefulness of climate projections to decision making.
This event will be a chance to discuss plans for short- and long-term projects, as well as gather ideas for new ones.
