TBAP CPD Pathways (outlined below) are a series of 2 hour specialist training sessions which run throughout the year. These sessions are led by specialist practitioners, skilled in working with young people with additional social, emotional and mental health needs. Session 1 will be delivered on Thursday October 18th 2018, session 2 on Thursday 28th February 2019 and session 3 on 4th July 2019. You are free to follow a pathway throughout all three sessions or mix and match as you like.

Choose from £120 for all three sessions or £50 for each single session.

Upon booking, you will be contacted to confirm your choice of pathway.

Pathway 1:

Assessment - KS3/4

Session 1 - Pupil Asset recording/ tracking progress – Refresher training for all – particularly those new to the organisation. This session will explore TBAP models of assessment including Progress 4.

Session 2 – Effective data analysis and reporting - how can we show our learners are making progress both on a whole school and individual basis? What do we then do with this data as leaders to ensure learners make the best possible progress?

Session 3 - Review and action planning – following on from the previous session, you will have the opportunity to review actions taken, share good practice and develop further actions to further refine assessment practice in schools

Assessment KS1/2    

Session 1 – Utilising the Behaviour for Learning assessment tool – making it meaningful and embedding it into classroom practice

Session 2 – Primary Assessment – case study: How Puma and Pira can be utilised effectively. How this supports learner progress.

Session 3 - Review and action planning – following on from the previous session, you will have the opportunity to review actions taken, share good practice and develop further actions to further refine assessment practice in schools

 

Pathway 2:

Behaviour

Session 1 - Trauma informed approaches – What are trauma informed approaches and how can you utilise them in your schools and classrooms? This session will offer practical, tried and tested solutions.

Session 2 - Developing Successful Learner Mindsets – Exploring the mindsets that can prevent learners from achieving in school and developing strategies of how to effectively overcome them.

Session 3 - Restorative approaches - Schools may use restorative approaches as part of a planned response to relationship and/or discipline difficulties. This is a more effective response than traditional punishments. Learn how restorative approaches can change the emotional atmosphere in a school and lead to more positive relationships between pupils and between pupils and staff.

Pathway 3:

Literacy

Session 1 - Interpreting literacy data for use in the classroom - A session aimed at increasing your understanding of the data we gather and how you can support different learner profiles.

Session 2 - Creating a bank of literacy resources for your subject - A workshop session to support the implementation of our holistic RAG skills; vocabulary, oral communication, spelling, reading (decoding), reading (comprehension, presentation, handwriting, sentence structure, punctuation and active listening.

Session 3 -  A practical guide to our most successful literacy interventions - The key components of Lexonik, Guided Reading and the Handwriting booklet and how you can incorporate their strategies in your classroom.

 

Pathway 4:

SEND  

Session 1: ASD friendly approaches – this session will explore the challenges faces by our learners on the autistic spectrum and provide practical strategies for supporting them in the classroom.

Session 2: Planning lessons and provision/ interventions to meet needs of SEMH - Using EHCPs to personalise planning) (Session1)

Session 3: Planning lessons and provision/ interventions to meet needs of SEMH (Session 2) Review impact Practical workshop share best practice 

Pathway 5:

Leadership

Session 1: What is effective line management? – This session will explore what effective line management looks like. How do you hold people to account? What staff development models can you put into place?

Session 2: Developing your strategic leadership – How do you develop your own leadership skills? How do you move from the operational to the Strategic? How do you develop capacity as a leader?

Session 3: Working as an effective SLT: How do you get buy in from your team? Change management models, working effectively as an SLT team.
