SPEAKER SERIES - HETTY KEY
Join us for a drink and an evening of outdoor inspiration with Hetty Key.
A keen outdoorswoman who loves adventure, endurance and data!
Hetty runs Women in Adventure - an independent research company championing women in the outdoors. Combining her scientific background, industry knowledge and personal experience, she is passionate about using data to increase diversity and improve accessibility within the outdoors. Swapping climbing shoes for spreadsheets, this started as a passion project but grew from strength to strength and soon became her full-time job.
Alongside this, Hetty is also one of the directors of Women’s Trad Festival. Heading into its fifth year, this event is rapidly becoming one of the most popular climbing festivals in the UK with tickets selling out in seconds!
When she is not looking at spreadsheets or deep in festival logistics you can typically find her swimming in icy rivers, running up hills, falling off mountain bikes or planning her next big escapade. She is a jack of all trades who lives for adventure and likes to bite off more than she can chew!
In her talk Hetty will talk about her journey discovering the outdoors both in-person and though her work. Starting off with a lot of enthusiasm, limited kit and no sense of direction, she threw herself headfirst into adventure (sometimes literally).
