Southwell Open Gardens 2019
The ever popular event is back this year with six private gardens for you to explore. The gardens should be looking at their absolute finest at this time of year and are located on The Ropewalk, Lower Kirklington Road, Station Road, Riverside, Newark Road and The Burgage. They are within a 2.5 km walk (quite a bit shorter if you know the footpaths) around the east of the town centre. Passports are available for £5 on the day from participating gardens and Burgage Court where tea and coffee will be on offer from members of the W.I. Children are free and must be accompanied at all times.
The passport will also allow you access to the Swan Sanctuary at Reg Taylor's garden centre, nearby in Normanton. You may not have time to visit the Swan Sanctuary on the day, but make sure you keep your passport safe as it will be valid between 2nd June and 9th of June, allowing you free access to the 9 acre Sanctuary which encompasses five lakes within parkland planted with an array of shrubs and trees.
