Short Film Night - April
Our hugely popular Short Film Night with Candle and Bell has now been running for two years! Come and celebrate the second anniversary of Short Film Night with a selection of some of the highlights of the last year from some of the UK's best up and coming film-makers.
System by Cecilia Stenbom
Two sisters, each with their own neurotic responses to everyday life, go shopping. The sterile environment of the shopping centre quickly becomes menacing as the women’s personal safety systems begin to fail.
Miss Todd by Kristina Yee
This stop-motion, musical, short animation tells the story of one young woman who dreams of flight in 1909, just as the whole of mankind is learning how to fly. Her passion is tireless, but in this era, she has more than gravity holding her down.
Crisps by Jim and Joseph Dethick
In an uncannily nostalgic world, seemingly imagined by an unseen eccentric narrator, Al Crisps finds his life takes a strange turn when his usual routine is broken.
Pebble Moon by Lian Furness
Curious 7-year-old Lily sees the world through the eyes of a fantasy story written by one of her two fathers. When a strange woman arrives from one of her fathers’ past, Lily looks to the story of the Pebble Moon to understand what true family means.
Acoustic Kitty by Jennifer Sheridan
Directed by Jennifer Sheridan, 'Acoustic Kitty' is inspired by the true story of the CIA's bungled attempt to spy on the Russians by implanting cats with sound recording devices.
Tickets £3 each.
