Rob Luft / Riser at Good Evening at The Royal Albert
Riser is a jazz-rock trio playing short, accessible compositions that rely heavily on group improvising. The strongest influences come from British free improvisers such as Derek Bailey & Evan Parker and South African jazz musicians like Louis Moholo-Moholo & Dudu Pukwana, with nods to others including Django Bates, Jim Black & Paul Motian. Leader Rob Luft is a well established player on the UK jazz scene, and "Riser" his exciting first project as a bandleader.
Rob Luft - Guitar
Tom McCredie - Bass
Corrie Dick - Drums & Vocals
A long standing member of bands run by UK jazz musicians like Martin Speake, Byron Wallen, Enzo Zirilli, and Corrie Dick, Luft has also performed with others such as Loose Tubes, Eddie Parker's "Mister Vertigo", Gregory Porter & The Hamish Stuart Band.
