Reclaiming Pregnancy & Birth Antenatal Workshop
Reclaiming Pregnancy & Birth
How would it feel to be secure in the knowledge that you can birth your baby in your own way, in your power?
‘Reclaiming Pregnancy & Birth’ is our new, comprehensive series of antenatal workshops designed to prepare women and their families for a birth experience where you feel respected, in control and in your power throughout.
Many antenatal courses offer information about the birth process, and the tools and comfort measures that can be used for a more positive experience. However, most courses fail to consider the challenge of applying this knowledge within a system that is not woman-centred.
Our workshops will be facilitated by experienced doulas over 6, 3-hour, sessions. Birth partners are welcome, however, the session on the 21st June will be a women only session -for this week please feel free to bring other women in your life who are supporting you in your birth journey.
The dates for the sessions are;
- Sunday 7th June
- Sunday 14th June
- Sunday 21st June
- Sunday 5th July
- Sunday 12th July
- Sunday 19th July
Some of the topics we will cover:
- human rights in childbirth
- physiology of birth
- birth as a hormonal event
- writing your birth plan
- accessing individualised care
- consent and capacity
- navigating maternity services
- breastfeeding politics, information and support
- preparing for the postpartum period
And so much more!
We believe that holistic birth education should be accessible to all women, regardless of their circumstances. For this reason there is no set fee for these workshops.
For anyone who is able to contribute, donations will allow us to continue offering these workshops in the future.
On our website below there are some suggested donations depending on your situation, however please know that there is absolutely no obligation to donate if you cannot comfortably contribute.
