This course – for those who have or have had cancer, and for carers- will provide a gentle but comprehensive training in the practice of mindfulness, using meditation, body awareness and simple movement. The approach is experiential, with lots of practice, but also with opportunities to discuss your experience and learn from the teacher and other participants. We will also explore how this practice can be taken into day-to-day life, where it is most needed.
Participants are asked to practise at home for up to 1 hour per day, five days per week.
To support participants after the course ends, we run a Mindfulness Maintenance class monthly at Paul’s Cancer Support Centre. There are also opportunities in London for further classes or practice, and these will be discussed in the last session

How to apply for this course
As this course may not be suitable for all applicants, you will be asked to fill in a form with information about yourself. The course leader will also speak with you by phone. We will then ask you to attend an orientation session which will be held on 22nd January, from 11am to 12:30pm. During the orientation session, you are welcome to ask questions about the course, what it will involve, and the potential benefits.
We will let you know if you have a place on the course by 5th February.
