Mindful Writing Course (online)
Mindful Arts is delighted to announce a unique course that will focus on freeing your natural creativity through mindful awareness. Mindfulness is an ancient wellbeing process that involves focusing on the breath, body and natural world, allowing us to see beauty in the smallest things and find inspiration for creative expression.
In four weekly sessions, the course will show you techniques for opening up your creative journey, with a range of writing exercises focusing on the senses, focusing on a particular sense area each week.
Week 1 - taste & smell, week 2 - sight, week 3 - sound, week 4 - touch
The course includes guided meditation and advice on journaling. We will also take inspiration from nature, artworks, photographs, natural objects, ornaments, artefacts and other writers' works.
Mindful writing is a non-judgmental approach with the process being as important as the end result. There is encouragement to explore and be playful in your creativity. The intention is to 'write from the heart' - poetry, prose or whatever comes out. There is no marking of work and any sharing of work is welcomed but voluntary.
This course is run by Mindful Arts' Tom George, a writer and workshop leader specialising in mental health and wellbeing.
