About:

Heavy metal titans Metal Church are very pleased to announce that they will be returning to our UK shores in June, for a five date long run. They will be touring in celebration of latest studio album ‘XI’, which was released last year via Nuclear Blast.

The tour kicks off at legendary London venue the Camden Underworld on 20th June, taking the five piece to Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin, before finishing at Thekla, Bristol on 24th June. Supports to be announced in due course.
Masterful Metal Church guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof said of the announcement:

"The Metal Church fans over there have always welcomed us with open arms and their passion and love for Heavy Metal music is second to none!"

Metal Church tour dates are as follows:
20th June – London, Underworld
21st June – Glasgow, Audio
22nd June – Belfast, Limelight 2
23rd June – Dublin, Voodoo Lounge
24th June – Bristol, Thekla

Metal Church’s latest album and 11th studio release ‘XI’ was released in March 2016, and it marked the return of legendary vocalist and front man Mike Howe!
‘XI’ was produced by Kurdt Vanderhoof and co-produced by Chris ‘The Wizard’ Collier.

“The best Church service in some 25 years… this is Metal Church up and at ‘em – just the way we like our metal

“It’s not too late to convert to the scriptures of Metal Church
Kerrang!

Metal veterans turn up the dial on their 11th studio album.”
“An abundance of great tracks like ‘Needle And Structure’, ‘Blow Your Mind’ and ‘Suffer Fools’… cement ‘XI’s status as a classy steamroller”
Metal Hammer

The reunion between Mike Howe and Metal Church started in July of 2014 when Mike started working with Kurdt Vanderhoof on a side project he was forming with Nigel Glockler from Saxon. Through these initial conversations, Kurdt convinced Mike to ultimately return to Metal Church. The idea was to see if they could recapture some of the magic from the three albums they released in the late 80’s: ‘The Human Factor’, ‘Blessing In Disguise’ and ‘Hanging In The Balance’. Out of those sessions, ‘XI’ was born and captures the sound that made the band fan favourites in the 80‘s and mixes it with a new, invigorated sound for 2016.

SUPPORT CHANGE ★ Comaniac now announced to support Metal Church replacing MESHIAAK live at The Underworld Camden on 20th June! - www.facebook.com/ComaniacOfficial - https://youtu.be/6592dAkZRss - Tickets: http://po.st/UnderMETALCHURCH Comaniac Statement: "Wow, we are truly overwhelmed to join the amazing Metal Church on their European run in June. Besides being on tour with one of our favorite bands it's also a huge honor to play in some legendary venues where we also visited concerts of our favorite bands as fans. Those are exactly the moments you're dreaming about when you start a Band. We're looking forward to see many new faces and we promise to kick your ass!" - MESHIAAK Statement: "Mascot Recording artists Meshiaak are parting ways with drummer Jon Dette due to the geographical distance between the Australian band members: vocalist Danny Camilleri, guitarist Dean Wells, bassist Nick Walker and Dette, who lives in Southern California. Living far apart made it near impossible for the band to rehearse properly and feel comfortable to be able to present themselves in front of live audiences the way they all felt represented the proper sound of the band. The band had scheduled rehearsals to take place in Germany prior to their first show June 10th in Breman, but, due to scheduling difficulties, the bands only chance to rehearse became cut short to the point the band felt that sonically the band would not be able to present the songs in a manner that best represented Meshiaak's intensity and precise song structure. Drummer Jon Dette, commented "if we cannot do it the way we know it should be done, then we have to man up and do the right thing and it also made us realize that while we can make a great record living on different continents in this digital world, a band has to be together to really get in the groove and to be a tight unit, especially for a newer band." Vocalist Danny Camilleri agreed and add's "it sucks really, we know we have a killer band, killer songs and the chance to do a killer European leg and reality hits you in the face with the different schedules and such. But if we are not comfortable with our live performance, we are not doing justice to ourselves or to those in the audience. We love Jon and only hope the best for him, we just wish he lived here with us in Australia, then no problems at all!" The band worked on possible solutions to make the tour work, but, unfortunately, they had to make a decision to go on tour not confident of the live show or cancel and regroup. Meshiaak would like to thank all those who support them and know they will understand the reasoning for doing the best all."
