Meet M.E. Glasgow: a drop in for anyone affected by M.E.
Hosted by Action for M.E.
Drop in to the city centre venue or join by vidoe call to:
meet other people living with M.E., family and friends
speak to staff and volunteers from our
Mentor M.E. project about 1:1 and group peer support
share your views, ideas and experiences with us
The event is free to attend and takes place across 3 rooms at Glasgow's boutique citizenM hotel from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
For people who are unable to travel to the venue you can join by video call from 4-5pm using a phone or computer. We will provide instructions and support to do this.
13.30: Welcome and refreshments. Staff and volunteers will be available to say hello, to explain the format of the afternoon and to direct you to the different rooms and sessions on offer.
14.00 to 14.30: 'Peer support' a short presentation by a Mentor M.E.volunteer followed by Q&A's.
13.30 to 15.00: Drawing out invisible illness - an opportunity to draw about living with M.E. This session will be led by Avril at Action for M.E. and offers the chance to express your feelings about living with an invisible, poorly understood illness. You don’t need any experience of drawing or worry about making a ‘good’ picture.
13.30 to 15.30: Relax - we have a quiet room to rest and sit quietly at anytime over the afternoon.
15.00 to 15.30: 'How can we support the growth of local peer support networks?' - join the conversation hosted by Therea at Action for M.E. Local support groups in different communities across Scotland provide invaluable support to people living with M.E. What can be done to help them to grow and flourish?
15.30: Thanks and closing of the event for those attending in person.
16.00 to 17.00: Welcome to those joining by video call. Say hello to staff and volunteers and be part of the conversation 'How can we support the growth of local peer support networks?
