Matt Abbott: Two Little Ducks (with support from WiseTalk poets)
Following a full run at Edinburgh Fringe in 2017 and a 22-date UK theatre tour in autumn 2018,
Either side of volunteering at the Calais Jungle refugee camp, Matt saw his native city of Wakefield vote 66% Leave in the EU referendum. Why did so many working-class communities like his come out in droves for Brexit? How can we ignore a human crisis just 22 miles from our shores? And will anything ever actually change for people like Maria?
This is a powerful, personal and poetic show from one of UK poetry's rising stars. A sequence of 22 poems, it forms an intense, moving and challenging piece of theatre in an accessible, dynamic and engaging manner.
