March to Stop Virgin taking over Bath's Health Services
B&NES Council is about to hand over our Community Health services to Virgin Care, a private company whose primary objective is to make profit, not improve our health. To make matters worse, Virgin Care's parent company is based in a tax haven. But the decision isn't set in stone - we've got a chance to save our Community Health services, if we speak out now!
Aneurin Bevan, who led the formation of the NHS once said:
"The NHS will last as long as there are folk left with the faith to fight for it."
Our NHS is being broken up, privatised, and taken away from us. Now is the time for all of us who value quality, public health care to take a stand and defend our NHS!
We invite you to take part in a march & demonstration through Bath on Saturday, October 29th. It will start in Queen Square at 12 and will then go through the city centre.
There will be speakers from Midday in Queen's Square.
We do expect a good turnout & would love to see you there. Please bring your own pacards & banners (o add to those we will provide).
Musicial instruments & drums would also be appreciated. We want to be as loud & as visable as is possible!
You could also help spread the word by posting details on your own Facebook and Twitter.
