B&NES Council is about to hand over our Community Health services to Virgin Care, a private company whose primary objective is to make profit, not improve our health. To make matters worse, Virgin Care's parent company is based in a tax haven. But the decision isn't set in stone - we've got a chance to save our Community Health services, if we speak out now!

Aneurin Bevan, who led the formation of the NHS once said:

"The NHS will last as long as there are folk left with the faith to fight for it."

Our NHS is being broken up, privatised, and taken away from us. Now is the time for all of us who value quality, public health care to take a stand and defend our NHS!

We invite you to take part in a march & demonstration through Bath on Saturday, October 29th. It will start in Queen Square at 12 and will then go through the city centre.
There will be speakers from Midday in Queen's Square.

We do expect a good turnout & would love to see you there. Please bring your own pacards & banners (o add to those we will provide).
Musicial instruments & drums would also be appreciated. We want to be as loud & as visable as is possible!

You could also help spread the word by posting details on your own Facebook and Twitter.

Thanks to everyone who came, you're all stars! But it's not over yet, despite the excellent turnout, celebrity speeches and press coverage, we need to keep kicking up a fuss, writing to councillors, sharing posts on social media and be ready for the demonsration on Thurs 10th November at 5pm at the Guildhall when the decision meeting is taking place. Please put it your diaries! For now though, you all deserve a great afternoon x

Respect to all the organizers, myself and my partner enjoyed the afternoon and huge respect to Ken Loach for attending and speaking. Long live the NHS #PowerToThePeople

Hope to see you all at 12 today! Bring a placard and something noisy if you can, but, more importantly, turn up and bring everyone with you! For those of you who can't make it, there will be another demo at The Guildhall, Thursday Nov 10th at 5.00pm

The plan is to stand up and make it clear that BANES does not want Virgin to run our health services - and to make the demo as effective as possible we need your help - please help spread the word by inviting everyone you know in Bath, sharing the event page on facebook and talking to family, friends and work colleagues. Many thanks, and see you Saturday!

I live in south glos but pretty sure this affecting us too as thornbury outpatients dept has been run by sirona healthcare a not for profit cic but they lost contract to virgin too and think it's same contract as bath and north east Somerset as all the literature in thornbury outpatients lists bath and north east Somerset delivering care in conjunction with sirona and to submit feedback for thornbury you ring bath! If anyone can confirm this would be great?

Sirona care and health deliver in both B&NES and SGlos currently. 2 separate contracts. Sirona offices in Bath. S.Glos not currently affected by the B&NES Your Care Your Way procurement process.
