Liverpool County FA Safeguarding Conference 2020
I would like to invite you all to the inaugural safeguarding conference hosted by Liverpool County Football Association. This is a first for our Association and I hope you can join us on the day for the networking opportunities that it brings.
We hope that you find all, or some part, of the itinerary we have put together for the day useful. The programme we will begin with a short anonymised, but real-life case study that happened recently in the Liverpool area. Following this we welcome Kevin Murphy from the NWG Network to launch 'Safe to Play' in the Liverpool area. Following this we have a presentation by a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) accompanied by a colleague from Merseyside Police, which will hopefully give you some insight as to how and why cases can sometimes be delayed whilst we follow due legal process and procedures in safeguarding.
The theme will then change focus, concentrating on Mental Ill Health and wellbeing of, not only your players, but also the coaches and volunteers who assist in the running of grassroots football clubs.
Finally, we will hear from a very knowledgeable and engaging Safe Sport Advocate.
Time permitting the day will end with a question and answer session involving all our speakers and specialists who have given up their time to attend and support our conference. Please take the opportunity not only then, but throughout the course of the day, to network and engage with our guests and your peers from the world of Grassroots football who are in attendance.
