Still Life for Printmaking - 5 Week Course
5 WEEK COURSE
WEDNESDAY EVENINGS 3rd June - 1st July 2020
6:00pm - 8:30pm
The course will begin with drawing using a range of materials such as charcoal, ink and collage from objects and natural forms, looking specifically at shape, pattern and texture.
You’ll then develop your ideas into monoprints using both the ‘drawn’ method and using stencils to develop imagery. You’ll learn how to use the etching presses in the workshop and gain an understanding of working with oil based inks to create unique monoprints.
You’ll be guided through the processes in a step by step way in a friendly studio environment.
What experience do I need?
This is a mixed ability course for complete beginners and those with some previous drawing and printmaking experience.
Those who have some previous skills may benefit from a fresh approach, with a focus on some new imagery.
What will I make?
You will come away from the course with a series of still life drawings and monoprints on cartridge paper, and a whole lot of ideas and inspiration for new projects.
Who is my tutor?
Do I need to bring anything?
All materials and equipment will be provided including cartridge paper, a range of drawing materials, inks etc. You are encouraged to bring along some of your own materials if you have them and personal objects may be brought along during the course to draw.
If I can't attend can I get a refund?
We will refund you in full if you cancel no less than 14 days before the start of the course, after which no refunds will be issued. Please note: Eventbrite’s booking fee is non-refundable.
By making a booking you are agreeing to our full course terms and conditions which can be found on our website
What if the course is cancelled?
We reserve the right to cancel the course for any reason (for example, insufficient bookings). We will endeavour to give at least 7 days notice if the course is cancelled and in the event of cancellation we will, of course, issue you a full refund.
Our aim is to bring printmaking to as many people as possible but, due to the nature of the building, Leeds Print Workshop is not wheelchair accessible. There is a step up into the building and four steps down to the toilets, and no accessible toilet facilities. Should you have any questions, or wish to discuss accessibility before booking, please don't hesitate to email us at email@example.com
Please note: we regret that, for safety reasons, only those over the age of 16 will be permitted to undertake the course.
