Improvisation and Interpretation
This workshop is in a series of classes to merge music and art together.
This workshop enhances creative expression through both music and art, and creates opportunities to improve listening, and communication skills.
This workshop focuses on how improvisation in music can be explored through abstract painting and vice versa. We will look at artists and musicians who have used these approaches, and through our greater understanding of these approaches, we will then produce our own painting which we will interpret musically.
This workshop develops skills in engagement and communication through opportunities in music making. The students will learn basic skills in music, as well as creating a space to use art to interpret their musical experience.
There is no prior musical experience needed for this workshop, and instruments are provided, however if the student would like to bring their own instrument they are very welcome.
Workshop will be run from 10:30 until 13.30 in a small group of up 10 children aged 7 to 16 years old.
All professional materials and equipment are provided. Refreshments are offered, and students are required to bring their own snacks.
