HPJC Presents: Alasdair Pennington Quintet

Alasdair Pennington is a freelance drummer based in Leeds, playing mainly jazz and improvised music. He has performed with many names in the world of jazz including Dennis Rollins MBE, Michael Dease, Gareth Lockrane, Tom Harrison, Steve Wilson, Helen Sung, Alan Barnes and Laura Jurd.
Alasdair started playing professionally as a teenager, backing musicians and performing with various bands and projects in and around his hometown of York. At the age of 18, he was awarded the title of Associate of Trinity College London before moving to Leeds to study jazz at Leeds College of Music. At the end of his second year, Alasdair received The Conservatoire Prize for BA Music (Jazz). He is currently in his final year of study at Leeds College of Music.
Alasdair Pennington Quintet will be performing a selection of arrangements and modern interpretations of pieces from the standard jazz repertoire. Expect a night of swing, bebop and American Songbook classics.
