Horror Soc goes to Reel Steel Cult Weekender Film Festival
We are joining Reel Steel's Cult Weekender Film Festival, a celebration of films which hold a 'classic' or 'cult' status in cinema.
We are going to watch the Extreme Asian Cinema double-bill, tickets are £9 for BOTH films!
Immediately gaining a cult status upon its release in the year 2000 and smashing its way into popular culture, Battle Royale tells the story of what happens when a high school class is set loose on an island and told only one will leave alive.
Presented here in a double-bill screening alongside another film which defined Extreme Asian Cinema in the 21st Century - the 2003 film from director Park Chan-Wook, Oldboy.
Oldboy finds a man imprisoned without reason for 15 years - who is then one day suddenly released without reason, and given 5 days to unravel the mystery.
Oldboy is a visceral, no holds barred journey of vengeance like nothing else.

We'll meet outside the Diamond at 17:45 to get the bus to the Abbeydale Picture House. We will get either the 97 or 98 down Abbeydale Road, student fare is £1.20 with a valid U-Card.
