Greater Manchester Metro Mayor Elections 2020- hustings
On 7 May 2020, Greater Manchester goes to the polls for the second time to choose a metro mayor with powers over transport, planning and skills.
The elected metro mayor sets out and implements a strategic vision for the economy of the metro area, supporting people, firms and institutions to build a more prosperous region in the decades to come.
As the campaign for the election gains momentum, Centre for Cities and the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce are together staging a hustings on Thursday 26 March for candidates to set out their plans to drive growth in the urban area.
You are invited to sign up for the event and to submit your questions to the following candidates using the event registration form:
Andy Burnham, Labour Party candidate (confirmed)
Laura Evans, Conservative Party candidate (confirmed)
Melanie Horrocks, Green Party candidate (confirmed)
Andy Kelly, Liberal Democrat Party candidate (confirmed)
The candidates will be asked to set out their aspirations for the future of Greater Manchester, with particular reference to infrastructure, innovation and business before responding to audience questions.
Other candidates will be confirmed as they are selected.
The discussion will be chaired by Andrew Carter, Chief Executive of Centre for Cites.
