Global Witness Environmental Defenders workshop
It has never been more important to protect the environment and the people fighting to defend it. The battle for the environment is also a crucial battleground for human rights.
As part of Global Climate Strike week,
Global Witness will provide an introduction to land and environmental defenders, highlighting why protecting them is crucial for the global climate movement. The session will focus on sharing stories and asks from defenders themselves, highlighting some key case studies of where businesses, investors and governments have driven attacks against defenders, and a workshopping exercise to discuss how to support them more.
This free workshop is aimed primarily at young people aged 12 – 24. If you would like to come and are not in this age group, please wait until 16 September before reserving your space!
About the facilitators
