Tonight marks the International Piano Series debut of the young Chinese-American pianist George Li.

Since winning silver medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, he has been attracting rave reviews as his impressive career accelerates.

"Mr Li's playing combined youthful abandon with utter command" (New York Times).

He is also the winner of Paris's XIV Concours International Grand Prix Animato 2014 and a 2016 Avery Fisher Career Grant, and has been touring widely, notably with the conductor Valery Gergiev.

Repertoire:
Beethoven: Piano Sonata in F, Op.10 No.2
Chopin: Piano Sonata No.2 in B flat minor, Op.35 (Marche funèbre)
interval
Rachmaninov: Variations on a theme by Corelli for piano, Op.42
Liszt: Consolation No.3 in D flat; Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 in C sharp minor (Lento a capriccio)
