Each month Future Film picks out a number of films that will excite, stimulate and inspire you! You can find more #FFRecs here: https://whatson.bfi.org.uk/Online/future-film-recommends

In August, Future Film recommends one of the punk classics Derek Jarman’s apocalyptic fantasy JUBILEE to coincide with BFI Southbank's celebration of all things punk.

Derek Jarman’s apocalyptic fantasy sees Queen Elizabeth I travel centuries into the future to find Britain on the brink of collapse. With established actors playing alongside recognisable punk figures, Jarman successfully tapped into the same feelings of anger, disillusionment and nihilism that The Sex Pistols articulated in the contemporary music scene.

Join us after the screening for a drink and a post-screening discussion in the Atrium, which is transformed this month into a punk space. We will talk about the film and its punk elements, the punk movement in cinema, art and politics, and how it manifests itself 40 years later.

£3 tickets available 45-minutes before the start of the screening for those 25 and under. The post-screening discussion is free and open exclusively to under 25s.
