First Aid Training - Bridgend 14/08/2019
Thanks to support from the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery, we’re working together with St John Ambulance, St Andrews and St John Cymru to provide first aid training for Ramblers volunteers.
“St John Ambulance is the nation’s leading first aid charity. Every year, more than 400,000 people learn how to save a life through our training programmes, including hundreds of thousands of young people.”
This half-day First Aid for Ramblers course will cover the basics, and the scenarios that you’re most likely to face on a group walk. Whether you are faced with cuts and grazes, broken bones, or something more serious – this course will give you the tools and confidence you need to react and manage the situation until help arrives.
All volunteers will benefit from attending, but particularly walk leaders, backmarkers, and anyone willing to volunteer as the nominated ‘first aider’ on a group walk. No prior knowledge or experience is necessary.
