Dressmaking & Sewing Course (3x2hours) April 2020

Have you got a sewing machine which is gathering dust and you'd love to put it to good use?
Do you fancy some down time and just want to sew?
Let me help you. I am a qualified textiles teacher and experienced seamstress and pattern cutter. I would love to share my passion with you.
Who is this class for:
This workshop is open to all whether your skills are none existent or advanced. Choose what make from clothes to soft furnishing to repairs. Just come along stitch and relax.
This course is a block of 3 x 2hour sessions running on a Monday evening on the 6th, 20th & 27th April 2020 (There is no class of Monday 13th April as it is a Bank Holiday). Please note depending on your chosen project and experience you may need to book subsequent sessions to complete your project.
What you will learn:
The skills you will learn will depend upon the product you choose to make but may include:
- Developing your sewing machine skills
- How to create an open seam, hem and neaten
- How to complete fastening such as zips and button& buttonholes
- How to hand stitch
- How to use and read and adapt a commercial pattern
Materials & Equipment:
For beginners: Don’t be put off, I’d love to have you join me and learn how to sew. You will need to choose a simple project for you first make or, if you would prefer, I can bring some starter projects along. Just let me know what you would like to do. My email is email@example.com.

Sewing machines are available but if you would like to get to know your own sewing machine a little better please feel free to bring your own.
