Digital textile design course for beginners
W H A T I S T H I S C O U R S E? A 4 session program on Wednesdays from 17.07- 07.08, which takes you from initial artwork creation through to digital printing onto fabric. You will be taught: - How to create original hand drawn motifs - How to digitally re-colour/add colour to hand drawn artworks - How to use Adobe Photoshop to create a repeat pattern - How to format a Textile design file - How to get your design printed onto fabric By the end of the 4 sessions you will be equipped with the knowledge needed to turn your designs into printed fabric samples along with 2 digitally printed fabric swatches of the designs you have created through this course. There are just 6 places available on this course due to space restrictions, but a second course will be running in September! Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided! W H O I S I T F O R? This course is open to all creative dabblers (women and men) who are keen to learn how to turn hand drawn artworks/illustrations into contemporary digitally printed fabric designs. No previous experience is necessary! W H A T Y O U W I L L N E E D: All drawing materials and equipment will be provided as part of the course but please bring some design/pattern/print inspiration along to the first session! For session 2 you will need a laptop to be able to digitally manipulate your design on Adobe photoshop. W H O R U N S T H E C O U R S E? This 4 session Textile design course will be run by Becky Burns, Owner and Creative Director of Textile Candy Ltd. Becky has worked as a Senior Textile designer in the fashion industry for 6+ years and has created print designs for accounts including: Marks & Spencers, Dorothy Perkins, New Look, George at ASDA, Tu at Sainsburys, C&A Europe and Tally Weijl Switzerland. Drawing on her wealth of experience she has created this Textile design taster course for creatives hoping to turn their artworks into fabric designs.
