Make your own creations with reusable materials
I teamed up with Handmade Nottingham to create this workshop to forward sustainable ideas in a creative way. Your creations will be made by reusable materials and things that surround your daily life. This will help you add a sustainable habit in your lives, create gifts, reduce waste and consume less.
Theodora Prassa, is a textile designer and visual artist who has exhibited internationally. She currently lives and works in Nottingham.
She completed her MA in Textile design at Nottingham Trent University, where she embraced both fine art practices, textile design and making. She creates limited edition collections and her inspiration derives from architecture, art and photography. She stocks her products in small ethical businesses and she likes passing on her knowledge to others and promote ethical design.
Everyone is welcome with no prior experience, but also people working with art and crafts and want to experiment with something different.
Through this 2, 5 hour workshop we will decorate fabrics with natural and recyclable materials.
We will start by experimenting with different ways of decorating fabrics with the intention to create our own decorative bags and gifts.
We will also make our own notebooks from 100% reusable materials.
All materials will be provided.
Feel free to bring your own things e.g. spare paper (white on one side) that you don´t need, a light colour t-shirt, pillow case or another personal item that you would like to decorate, otherwise there will be plenty other materials to choose to work with.
Tea, coffee and homemade cake will be provided.
