Careers in the Civil Service information session
The UK Civil Service is one of the largest graduate recruiters.
Join us at a fantastic panel event where you will have the opportunity to hear from Senior Civil Servants and Fast Streamers (the Civil Service graduate programme).
The panel will discuss topics such as what opportunities there are for careers in the Civil Service, what it's like to be on the Civil Service Fast Stream Graduate Programme, internship opportunities and diversity and inclusion within the Civil Service.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions and get involved with a focus discussion groups on a range of themes.
Leah graduated from the University of Hull in 2014 with a BA in History, she wasn’t sure specifically what career she wanted to pursue other than knowing that she wanted to work in an area where you could contribute towards having a positive impact on society.
Joe is based in Sheffield and began his career at the Home Office in 2004 as an Administrative Assistant.
Drew leads the Ministry of Justice’s work on social mobility. A former journalist, he joined the Civil Service in 2006 towork on asylum and immigration. Since then, he has undertaken roles inoperations, internal consultancy, organisational design and development and strategic HR, moving to MoJ in 2014 as the Head of Capability and Learning.
Gerri joined the Cabinet Office in December 2018 where she is the Deputy Director leading on EU Exit capacity and capability building.
Oli studied Twentieth Century History at the University of Hull from 2010-2013. In 2015, Oli started his Civil Service career working in the Cabinet Office on domestic and international crisis response. He then moved to Bristol and worked on defence procurement in the Ministry of Defence.
