Returning for it's third year, Bricktastic is a two day LEGO Event in the heart of Manchester with all show profits being used by the Children's Charity Fairy Bricks to give LEGO to children in hospital.

The very best LEGO Builders from the UK and beyond will showcase their new creations, many being shown to the public for the first time. They will joined by models from Bright Bricks, the UK's only LEGO Certified Professional Company.

Bricktastic isn't just a display event. There will be a variety of hands on LEGO activities, structured things like a group mosaic build, free building with a variety of bricks, LEGO Mindstorms and many more.

No LEGO day out would be complete without a few treats and a variety of retailers will be on hand for pocket money bargains, missing parts, the latest LEGO sets and some long since retired ones.

*** Important Security & Cash Sales Information *** After more discussions with the venue it has been decided that ALL bags will be searched upon entry. We appreciate this is not ideal but hope that everyone will understand how necessary this is. We will operate this as little disruption as possible. Cash/card sales will be available on the day (subject to availability) and after purchase those ticket holders will have to join the advance ticket purchase line. On the day prices will also be higher than online at £13.50 Adults and £10.50 children. So to pay on the day you have to line up twice and it will cost more. Therefore we strongly recommend you buy your tickets in advance. This will get you into the venue quicker and save you money. If they are still available then they will still be able to be purchased on the day of the event online.

When you're enjoying our new mosaic build next week, spare a thought for the poor souls stripping and sorting the bricks in preparation!

Fantastic competition being offered by Northern to win train tickets and entry over on their twitter feed! Just guess the number of bricks in the jar. Before anyone asks, we don't know the answer! https://twitter.com/northernassist/status/877873798850134016

Want to attend on the Saturday. My son is disabled. How do I go about obtaining a careers ticket and would there be a charge for this?
Nikki Hudders
-- 21/06/2017 21:43
I asked the same question Sarah. I rang up and they said they are not doing the free carer tickets because it is a charity event. All ticket prices are a flat fee for everyone x

Morning Sarah, First of all apologies for the email situation. They get spammed up quickly, especially overnight. In answer to your question about carers tickets... We did consider this way back in 2015 when we ran the first Bricktastic. We consulted a variety of agencies and charities that focus on people with additional needs because while we (Fairy Bricks) are a charity our focus is on general health and well being. They all came back with an answer along the lines of that if this was a commercial event then we should offer concession tickets as you have described. However as the event is essentially a fundraising one for Fairy Bricks then it wouldn't be appropriate. We have maintained that policy since 2015. Last year we introduced an early opening time for people with additional needs at 9am and have continued that this year. It means that for the first hour only 100 people are allowed inside the venue for a much calmer relaxed experience. Some of those tickets are still available. There isn't an additional charge for these tickets and nor do we ask for proof of a persons additional need. At no point have we stated that the event will ever be "rammed" Yes of course there will be times when it is busy but again a decision made going to 2015 was that we would rather have less people having an incredible time than more having an average one.

Want to meet a giant Uni Kitty? Would two be even better? Well guarding our entrance this year will be two of them and you can see the Classic Space one here! Built by our friend Warren Elsmore and his team, they will be keeping a close eye on the line for any misbehaviour. We wouldn't want Angry Kitty to appear now would we.......

Four incredible models that will be on display from our friends at Comunidade 0937 in Portugal. It's highly likely this is the last time these creations will be on display in the UK so if you want to see them, get your tickets now :-)

Hi, what security checks will be in place please, just looking for some reassurance after recent events, are bags and prams allowed, thanks
Bricktastic
-- 11/06/2017 11:34
Apologies for the late reply here Michelle, we didn't notice our response had been misplaced!
Bricktastic
-- 11/06/2017 11:34
We have consulted with the venue as they are the experts when it comes to additional security measures and whatever they tell us to do then we do it. Bags and pushchairs are still allowed but random bag searches will be in place. The staff at the venue are fully trained and licensed for this type of operation. They also realise this is an event attracting lots of children so their presence and mode of operation will be very child friendly.
Michelle Connor
-- 11/06/2017 11:34
Thank you for your response, it's unfortunately something that is on our minds with having young children & an older child with learning disabilities & mobility issues. I'm guessing most people would have the same concerns though...

Some great news just in! Thanks to our good friend Huw over at Brickset, all children visiting the event will be given a free LEGO polybag* as they enter! We think it is a great way to start the event for families but it couldn't happen without the help from Brickset so you might want to pop onto their page and website as it is THE place for all of your LEGO related news. *Designs of the polybags will vary.

A little treat for all you train fans is coming to Bricktastic! Built by our friends at Bright Bricks and being close to 8m long, this is quite possibly the most beautiful thing they have ever built. And yes it is the Flying Scotsman!
