Started almost 20 years ago by Sue Marshall (YogaSoo), now hosted by Cass Xuxin (E-RYT® 200). Based on Ashtanga Primary Series, this classic yoga asana sequence is adapted and developed with a modern twist, and anatomically safer.
As all of Cass' classes, this dynamic practice is friendly and fun, be prepared to move, sweat, stretch and feel good!
The Purpose of Aśtanga Practice
The ultimate purpose of an Aśtanga practice is to purify and heal. By moving quickly and powerfully, with close observation of the breath (Pranayama, aka the Force), everything else - thoughts, fear, worries and all kinds of emotions - will have to get out of the way. This practice has a strong sense of purpose therefore promote focus and grow.
Benefits Of Aśtanga Practice
Aśtanga comes with all the benefits of a regular yoga practice--strength, flexibility, stress management, and inner peace. Because the series is physically demanding (and in traditional practice you're expected to practice most days) you will get stronger real fast! There is no part of the body that doesn't work hard in this practice.
Drop me a line if you have any questions.
Looking forward to seeing you on the mat.
