Artsmark Creative Writing and Drama CPD
Write Way Through: Using creative writing to extend and embed learning with Rose Condo
This session uses creative writing activities to dig / dive / delve into subjects across the curriculum. The workshop incorporates both individual and group writing activities that offer students opportunities to develop literacy, writing, and speaking skills. Participants will come away with techniques for using creative writing to help students deepen their learning and develop their confidence and critical thinking.
Over to you: Using enquiry-based drama which places the child as expert with Shuna Beckett
Imagine your pupils as expert detectives, scientists, museum historians, environmentalists, astrophysicists, war evacuees, or pirates, as they respond to their mission, investigate, develop their ideas, and present their findings in unique and pioneering ways.
This session will demonstrate the basic steps needed for an enquiry-based approach to the whole curriculum, using provocations and techniques which draw some parallels with ‘Mantle of the Expert’.
Aimed at teachers with little or no experience in using drama, it will give you the confidence and key skills needed to design and facilitate an exciting, child-led and inclusive process that promotes literacy and learning across almost all curriculum subjects.
