Active Birth - When nature needs a hand
PLEASE NOTE: These classes are only available to book for women booked to birth at Bradford Royal Infirmary and you will be required to provide your Bradford hospital identification number (MRN/RAE number) on arrival at all classes.
Please aim to attend this class from 30 weeks of pregnancy onwards and ensure you book tickets for each person attending, no more than two tickets per booking.
Helping you to understand and navigate the twists and turns of labour and birth. When nature needs a hand covers:
- Induction of labour
- Drug forms of pain relief (gas and air, pethidine and epidural)
- Monitoring your baby during labour, why and how we do this
- Artificial rupture of membranes ("breaking the waters")
- Assisted Birth (forceps/ventouse)
- Vaginal Birth After Caesarean Section (VBAC)
- Caesarean Section (Planned and Emergency)
- Breech baby (baby in a bottom down position)
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
We regret that we are unable to accept bookings from women booked to birth their babies at other maternity units. You will be required to supply your Bradford hospital number on arrival at all classes.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Please note parking at this event is not free, payment is via pay and display machines in the hospital car park, please ensure you have coins.
What can I bring into the event?
You will need your hospital number (MRN/RAE number which can be found in your pregnancy booklet). We supply tea, coffee, juice and biscuits for a small donation but please feel free to bring your own drinks to any of our classes.
