Wed 9th Professional Open Class
Who is it for:
Anyone who likes being on stage. Seriously, all mediums. I work a lot with circus arts and blending them with theatre and movement practises. These sessions are open to anyone with an interest in creating different states of tensions on stage through whatever discipline; theatre, movement or circus.
What we will be doing:
The sessions are the warm up and taught element of a research and development project which will be shown at Peace In the Park on June 13 (please come and watch!) I can tell you exactly what we are doing for the first two sessions and then after that there will be developments on the themes that arise from our professional working practise. So, we are going to start by exploring 'states of play'. This means different ways of being on stage and how when mixed together we can create an affect on the audience. We will be working in pairs/groups and creating 'happenings' for each other to watch and analysis. The aim is to embody and re-create different tensions to draw in and engage with an audience. You can work with your voice/body or props, I am quite interested in how exercises translate into different mediums.
The price here is £5 per class. However, struggling artists, don't sit at home, email me and we can set up a 'pay what you can'. I wish to share and enjoy creating together.
You don't have to come to all of them. Each session will probably build on the one before but I will do my best to quickly re-cap.
