11th Annual Northern & Yorkshire Student Occupational Therapy Conference
We welcome you to join us for the 11th Annual Northern and Yorkshire student occupational therapy conference which is kindly being organised and hosted by York St John University. The theme for this conference is 'The Bigger Picture: Diversity and Connection in Occupational Therapy'.
Occupation is an essential factor in life quality, the experience of being human and the social transformation of individuals and of the societies of which people are a part.
We invite you to look through an occupational lens at how people can develop and maintain their families, neighbourhoods and communities as sources of belonging, opportunities and common action.
We are excited to announce we have the pleasure of welcoming Dr Nick Pollard as our keynote speaker. Nick delivered the 2018 Elizabeth Casson Memorial Lecture and has an impressive range of texts including “Occupational Therapy Without Borders”. He seeks to promote social inclusion locally, nationally and internationally, whilst also engaging with people and projects at a local level and is an inspirational leader in Occupational Therapy around the world.
Through a combination of speakers, interactive workshops, networking, idea sharing and reflecting we will explore how responsiveness to the dynamics and specifics of context makes it possible for occupational therapy to work effectively in diversity to meet society's occupational needs.
The conference is designed to inform, inspire and empower you to:
-Connect and creatively collaborate
-Respond to a broad, dynamic, changing world
-Take on the role of occupation-based socially transformative agent of change
Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
Registration is from 09.00 and the conference will start at 09.30 prompt.
